SME Steps Up for Heart Health

SME hit the pavement for a cause, raising funds and awareness in the fight against heart disease. But what made this walk even more personal for the team? Keep reading to find out!

In an effort to spread awareness and fight heart disease within the community, Shanahan Mechanical and Electrical (SME) took part in the 2024 Lincoln Heart Walk in support of the American Heart Association. Donations made to the Heart Walk enhanced cardiovascular research, getting more people trained in CPR, and ultimately reducing heart disease and stroke death rates in the community. “So many of us, our families and friends, are affected by heart disease, this is a cause that we all can relate to,” says Project Manager, Jill Sydik, a top 5 Heart Walker out of 114 participants, “plus, fundraising is a great team building event!” With 12 Heart Walkers, some of whom are heart disease survivors, SME raised $1,015.18 and secured a top 5 ranking among fundraising companies. Every step towards heart health counts!
